Some of the fish species at higher substitution risk
Eurofishmarket alerts Control Bodies and Companies of the sector to be particularly vigilant with the fish species declared on labels and the mandatory denominations reported in the table below.
In fact the reported species are of particularly high quality and are often substituted, on retail, with lower quality, cheaper species mostly from very far Countries. The substitution frauds are several most of all when the species are processed into fillets or cutlets or otherwise. It is advised to always check with attention the packing list of the fish where the scientific denomination is reported to compare it to what the actual content is.
Report your eventual doubts to Eurofishmarket.
